Switzerland has once again proven its prowess in innovation, securing the title of the “Most Innovative Country” for 2023. This recognition speaks volumes about the nation’s unyielding commitment to research, development, and creating a nurturing environment for business evolution. As an example of this proactive commitment for development, Roche Philippines and SwissCham Philippines discuss potential joint initiatives that can be implemented to shape the healthcare landscape in the country by bridging gaps and enhancing patient outcomes.

A Swiss delegation was also organized to participate at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Business Opportunities Fair, which signals renewed enthusiasm for Swiss companies to look for possible infrastructure projects in the region. SwissCham hopes to see more of our companies participating in various infrastructure projects under the Build Better More program of the Philippine government.

We are also happy to meet this week our colleagues from SwissCham China to share updates on various chamber activities and initiatives. The visit of Asian Institute of Management (AIM-WSGSB) is likewise instrumental in exploring ways for skills development and training not only for our member-companies but potentially paving the way for partnerships with Swiss educational higher institutions.

The Swiss business community wishes to extend our warm welcome to the new Swiss Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Nicolas Brühl who has recently presented his credentials to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. In a small gathering hosted at his residence, we conveyed our strong support and commitment to further strengthen diplomatic and business ties with the Philippines and Switzerland.

Our Life Sciences, IT-BPM, and Manufacturing Clusters are actively diving into strategy sessions. We hope to conduct more cluster meetings as we continuously build this expert group who shall represent our organization in various policy advocacies with the Philippine government.
