Business E-Journal: October 2023

Posted on October 1, 2023

The October 2023 issue offers a comprehensive glimpse into the Swiss-Filipino business dynamic, with a special focus on sustainability, healthcare, and technological innovation.

We shared the news about Geneva and Zurich's impressive rankings among the top 5 global green financial centres. This notable achievement underscores Switzerland's commitment to sustainable finance, showcasing its pivotal role in steering global eco-friendly investment trends.

In healthcare, Roche Philippines tackles the challenges of breast and cervical cancer. This collaboration underscores the importance of prioritizing women's health and the necessity of early detection and care in the Philippines.

The issue also delves into the sustainability initiatives for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), spotlighting the second workshop conducted by SwissCham Philippines in collaboration with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the on-going partnership with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). These initiatives signal a growing awareness of the environmental responsibilities of businesses across all scales.

In strengthening international business ties, we visited Sateco, Bobst, Switzerland Global Enterprises, and consulted with colleagues in the Swiss Business Hub-ASEAN and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

Innovation is another key theme, with SwissCham Philippines leading the charge at the CXO Forum. This event is portrayed as a crucible of innovation, where business leaders converge to discuss and evolve strategies that foster an innovative culture within the business sector.

We are also happy to note that Nencki AG shock absorber testing machine for Manila’s MRT 3 safety upgrade is bound for Manila. This is a key milestone for Swiss MSME companies to actively participate in the Philippines’ infrastructure program. Finally, we feature Avaloq Philippines and Endress + Hauser in this issue for their contributions to strengthening Swiss-Filipino business relations.
