Business E-Journal: October 2022

The October 2022 issue of our SwissCham Philippines Business E-Journal features the core DNA of Switzerland and our Swiss businesses anywhere in the globe - innovation and sustainability. This is partly showcased in the recently concluded Swiss Innovation Exhibit last 24-26 October 2022 at the Grand Hyatt Manila. The successful event was made possible through the Swiss Cultural Fund, the Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines, and the active participation of company exhibitors such as Buhler Philippines, DDC Land, Holcim Philippines, Nestle, Novartis, Novateur Coffee Concepts, Roche, Sateco Group, SGS Philippines, Sika Philippines, and Tetra Pak Philippines.

For its part, SwissCham Philippines held its first Chamber Networking and Appreciation Night, as co-presented by the Swiss Embassy and Switzerland Global Enterprise, and in partnership with John Clements Consultants and The Wallace Business Forum. It is always fascinating to gather the Swiss-Filipino business community over wine and socials to rekindle acquaintances, forge new connections, develop ideas, and even share experiences and lessons learned during difficult times.

We shared important milestones that the Chamber has accomplished thus far while transitioning from the Philippine Swiss Business Council to what is now legally known as the Swiss Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. We took the chance to recognize former PSBC officers who have served the board for at least five (5) continuous years, as the Chamber cannot be what it is today without their unwavering support and dedication. Along with this, we have likewise awarded our official logo-winning entry by Mr. Paolo Maravilla, who drew inspiration from the mission of the Chamber in strengthening the economies of both Switzerland and the Philippines, and its people.

For this issue, we warmly welcome Impact Acoustic and SATECO to the SwissCham Philippines family. Both companies have decided to invest in the Philippines, thereby creating jobs, offering innovative solutions, and contributing to economic development. Special thanks to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for efficient service and assistance to our Swiss companies.

We appreciate prospective investors from Switzerland visiting SwissCham Philippines to exchange views and inquire about doing business in the country, and for this, we hope Nencki Railway Technology had a meaningful visit to Manila and be able to see opportunities in rail transport and participate in the Build, Better, More infrastructure programs of the Philippines.

Finally, and as we always reiterate, this journal is for the service of our members, and we are delighted to feature Avaloq, Medgate, and Novartis - all recognized movers and shapers in their respective industries. We thank Marcel Thenu (APM Technical) as well for his reflective insight into the synergy of Filipino-Swiss cultures.
