In the latest edition of our business journal, we highlight Switzerland’s exceptional talent strategy, recognized globally as the best in the world. We brought this story locally and started a dialogue with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to share best practices and to nurture and develop talent in the Philippines, setting the stage for a future driven by innovation.
We also wish to share some remarkable updates with our business community on our activities and initiatives in strengthening Swiss-Filipino business relations. For one, Swiss Export Risk Insurance (SERV) visited for the first time in Manila and consulted with potential partner companies to boost Swiss presence in various projects in the Philippines and Asia particularly on infrastructure, waste-to-energy, renewable solutions, and water supply, among others. This move is expected to enhance economic ties and encourage more Swiss businesses to invest in the Philippines.
Your Board of Directors recently held its annual strategic planning to reflect on our achievements this year and chart our plans and directions for the years ahead. We shall continue our efforts in deepening collaborations with the public sector and other partners through our innovation clusters on life sciences and digital health, IT-BPM, and manufacturing. In fact, our life sciences and digital health cluster had a courtesy visit with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to emphasize the chamber’s commitment to technological advancement and identify concrete steps in advancing digital health.
On the other hand, Swiss Ambassador Nicolas Brühl graced the reopening of the Manila office of Partners Group and the Swiss Embassy awarded three (3) teams of young Filipino innovators during its inaugural Swiss Innovation Prize Competition at the Makati Diamond Residences.
Furthermore, our member companies – Zuellig Pharma and SGV- made important strides in their sustainability efforts boosting the transition to sustainable energy production and encouraging more MSMEs to be champions of sustainable development.
