Business E-Journal: August 2025

The August 2025 issue of the SwissCham Philippines Business E-Journal highlights Switzerland’s commitment to export excellence, sustainability, and partnership-driven growth under the theme “Working Together to Strengthen Economies.” Leading the issue is a report from Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) showing that every Swiss franc invested in export promotion now generates CHF 34 in export sales, reflecting the resilience and global competitiveness of Swiss SMEs—key partners in markets such as Southeast Asia and the Philippines.
A major highlight is SwissCham’s collaboration with Roche (Philippines) and the Embassy of Switzerland to champion innovation and access in eye health. The luncheon forum brought together experts from government, healthcare, and the private sector to address retinal diseases and explore sustainable health financing mechanisms. Hans-Christian Baumann, Chargé d’Affaires of the Swiss Embassy, emphasized bridging innovation and access, while Dr. Paolo Silva and Dr. Mary Antonette Remonte underscored the need for integrated care and improved PhilHealth coverage. Roche General Manager Dr. Diana Edralin introduced Lunas Pinas, a patient-support initiative fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration. The event concluded with a shared call for collective action to ensure equitable eye care for all Filipinos.
Complementing this are features on Swiss companies leading sustainability efforts: ABB, Bühler, SGS, Nespresso, and Endress+Hauser—all demonstrating how innovation and responsibility drive lasting impact. In his Swiss National Day message, Ambassador Dr. Nicolas Brühl reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Switzerland and the Philippines—anchored on solidarity, cooperation, and shared prosperity.
