Business E-Journal: April 2025

In this month’s cover story, Zurich continues to lead the way, topping the IMD Smart City Index for the sixth straight year. Rated AAA in both structure and technology, the city once again sets the benchmark for health, mobility, governance, and digital connectivity. Geneva and Lausanne also secured top 10 rankings, underscoring Switzerland’s deep-rooted commitment to quality urban living and smart innovation.
That same spirit of progress was evident in the Chamber's recent activities. SwissCham Philippines welcomed a new cohort of members including top law firms, engineering consultants, and wealth advisors, broadening its network of professionals shaping the Swiss-Filipino business landscape. Strengthening partnerships remains a key priority, as demonstrated by our active support of the 17th Philippine Food Expo, where we spotlighted innovation, food safety, and sustainable sourcing in the ASEAN agri-food sector.
Leadership development also takes center stage. Novartis’ Talent Immersion Program continues to empower future leaders across Asia through cross-cultural exchange and hands-on learning, reinforcing the company’s belief that investing in people drives lasting impact in healthcare.
Among our member features, Amihan Solutions stands out with its people-first approach to remote work, marked by an in-person client visit to Switzerland that deepened trust and collaboration. Holcim Philippines also made headlines by scaling up its solar energy partnership with Berde Renewables, adding new capacity and cutting carbon emissions in support of its 2030 targets.
From clean energy to talent mobility, the April issue reinforces one message: Swiss and Philippine businesses are not only innovating, we are doing so with intention, impact, and global alignment.
