SwissCham Philippines Strengthens Healthcare Partnerships with Life Sciences and Digital Health Cluster to Drive Innovation
On June 19, 2024, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines met with the Life Sciences and Digital Health Innovation Cluster to strategically identify objectives and streamline its implementation.
Industry leaders from prominent member companies of the organization, including Novartis Healthcare Philippines, Zuellig Pharmaceuticals, SMedicoPhils, and Dashlabs, attended the session. The discussion highlighted collaborative efforts aimed at navigating regulatory frameworks concerning the enhancement and digitalization of healthcare services.
Several specific initiatives were highlighted during the session, including ongoing efforts to cohesively collaborate internally among industry stakeholders and externally with Philippine governmental bodies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Health (DOH), and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), among others. Previous engagements with Quezon City and Pasig City were also noted to streamline processes and address regulatory challenges effectively.
Plans to organize workshops with the ARTA were set forth to cultivate stakeholders on enhancing operational efficiencies and aligning with regulatory standards that support innovation in pharmaceuticals and digital health, benefiting Swiss business interests in the Philippines.
Looking ahead, SwissCham reaffirmed its commitment to fostering bilateral ties and advocating for the advancement of healthcare services in the country. Regular dialogues and follow-up meetings are proactively planned to ensure sustained progress on action items and facilitate ongoing collaboration with government agencies and institutions.
