June 13, 2022, Makati City – The Philippine-Swiss Business Council (PSBC) with the support of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) held a 2-day Sustainability Reporting workshop for the appointed sustainability leads/champions of its member companies.

Held on May 24-25, 2022 at the Novartis Healthcare Philippines office in Makati City, the workshop is aligned with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) memorandum circular on Sustainability Reporting Guidelines for Publicly-Listed Companies mandating all publicly-listed companies to include Sustainability Reporting in their annual reports.

The resource speakers during the workshop were GRI ASEAN Regional Hub Head Dr. Allinnettes Adigue, GRI Philippines Country Manager Katreena Pillejera, and GRI ASEAN Regional Program Manager Lany Harijanti. The workshop generated insightful discussions on sustainability topics that identified priorities for PSBC member companies’ respective industries and taught leaders how to embed sustainability in their corporate culture.

“We are pleased to partner with GRI in holding this important workshop. The Sustainability Reporting training aims to equip PSBC members with the necessary information and skills to comply with the SEC memorandum circular. We thank the Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines, the Swiss federal government’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, and Novartis Healthcare Philippines for supporting the PSBC in holding this workshop,” said PSBC Chairperson Christine Fajardo.

“Through the SR workshop, we aim to equip PSBC members with the necessary information and skills to be able to comply with the SEC memorandum circular on Sustainability Reporting Guidelines for Publicly-Listed Companies, and for us in the private sector to manage the impact of our company’s activities,” Ms. Fajardo explained.

To highlight their sustainability and social responsibility initiatives, the PSBC with support from the Global Reporting Initiative, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, and the Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines has published the first edition of Impact Stories. The digital publication features 10 of PSBC's member companies, namely: BCP Dermatological Corporation, Dashlabs.ai, DDC Land, Holcim Philippines, Ivoclar Vivadent, Nestle Philippines, Novartis Healthcare Philippines, Prozone Xpress Logistics, Roche Philippines, and Stamm International.
